With your permission - a detailed report to your GP once treatment has finished. With such a diverse group of therapists in the practice we offer the following treatment modalities:
What to expect
On your arrival you will be shown into a private treatment room by your therapist. He or she will ask you a large number of questions about yourself and your medical history as well as about your current condition, and then will carry out a clinical examination.
On the basis of his or her findings, the therapist will make a diagnosis. He or she will discuss this diagnosis with you and recommend a treatment plan.
The agreed treatment plan will normally commence during this first session.
What to bring
Registered Osteopaths - The Osteopathic Act was passed in 1993 and as a result of this a statutory regulatory body known as the General Osteopathic Council was developed. Membership of the GOSC is mandatory for anyone wishing to practise as a Registered Osteopath: only those practitioners who have been assessed as safe and competent within osteopathic practice are licensed by the Council.
Chartered Physiotherapists - In the United Kingdom the title "physiotherapist" is not protected by law, and therefore anyone can call themselves a physiotherapist. The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) is the sole recognised examining and professional body within the UK and its members may be recognised by the designatory letters "MCSP" after their name. All members of the CSP are entitled to become State Registered Physiotherapists, thus enabling them to work in the National Health Service.
All the physios at Scorpio Clinics are Chartered and State Registered Physiotherapists, and all the osteopaths practising at Scorpio Clinics are Registered Osteopaths.
